Viking Mag Drive® Pumps use magnetic force passing through a statically sealed canister to drive the pump. This eliminates the need for a traditionally dynamic shaft seal such as packing or mechanical seals. In turn, this eliminates the hazards and mess caused by leaking packing or mechanical seal failure, making this an ideal solution for: Hazardous liquids such as caustics or acids Flammable liquids such as fuels or alcohols Liquids which are difficult to seal such as resins or isocyanates used in polyurethane foam production Strong aromatics such as perfumes or mercaptum Expensive liquids such as heat transfer liquid or those used in pharmaceutical production Applications where seal failure is absolutely unacceptable such as pipeline sampling Pump locations which a leaking pump may cause a safety concern (near walkways or overhead) Viking's CMD series' non-metallic construction delivers a broad range of chemical compatibility, ideal for handling harsh corrosives such as acetic acid, ferric chloride, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and others. This pump series is ideally suited for low-flow operation where centrifugal pumps perform inefficiently and can experience cavitation, increased radial loads and unstable flow. Designed with simple serviceability in mind, you can replace all of the typical wear components easily by removing only the front cover, maximizing uptime.
Viking Pump introduced the first commercially available Magnetically Coupled gear pump over 2 decades ago, and has built on that tradition with the widest offering of Mag Drive gear pumps available today including the Universal Mag Drive, the original Viking Mag Drive®, and the high pressure Spur Gear Mag Drive Pump.
The CMD Series includes the following models: E02 E05 E12 E25 E75 E125
